TALES OF NARNIA
The Tales of Narnia are amongst
the most popular children’s books of all time, and cover the life of Narnia
from its creation to the ending of the world (and the beginning of what
follows). This is the complete series (“A Horse and His Boy” now sold) which starts
with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
(the premise for the present Disney major motion picture The Chronicles of
Narnia).
All 7 books are hardback 8vo, in good condition, with good
quality pictorial dustwrappers designed by Pauline Baynes, all unclipped.
Colour frontispieces to the first two books and numerous line drawings in all
text, also by Pauline Baynes. All near fine copies, with mild fading to the
dustwrapper spine, very occasional spotting/foxing, otherwise very clean and
crisp. All are 1st UK edition (but not 1st impression).
The first 5 are published by Geoffrey Bles, the last two by The Bodley Head.
All have been owned by one person since purchase in late 50s/ early 60s, and
have been read twice only. Minor variations noted with each title.
